I chose this biography on Lebron James because I have a very strong passion for basketball. Lebron James is one of the greatest superstars in the National basketball association. He was said to be the greatest high school basketball player of all time. When I first picked up this book it was extremely interesting from the first page. Lebron James a teen-age sensation, was the number one pick of the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, straight out of high school. When reading this book, it makes you feel very inspirational and motivated because Lebron went from a deprived life to an NBA all-star millionaire. This book reminds me of the biography Roberto Clemente because they are both star athletes trying to make it big from nothing. Both of them also give back to the community and are true leaders. This book is challenging in a sense that there are many transitions of the topics being discussed. For example they talk about his high school career, then NBA, then back to high school, and back to NBA and it can get very confusing. The best part of this biography are the outrageous statistics that Lebron James put up in both his high school and present day NBA career. His freshman year he averaged 21 pts ppg and 7 rbs. His Sophomore year he averaged 25 ppg and 9 rbs. He averaged 29 pts and 9 rebounds per game his junior year. His senior year he averaged 38 pts ppg 12 asst and 10 rbs per game. In the NBA he's averaged 27 ppg, 7 rbs, and 6 asst. He has won 2 NBA most valuable players. This book has been great so far!
