The Last Song

I think the best way to describe me as a reader would be reluctant due to my unwilling or lack of interest in picking up a book to read it. I used to be an active reader and used to love books when I was younger. I would fly through them one after the other so for this I am also a former reader. However, now-a-days, when I do give myself an opportunity to read a book that I enjoy reading or that catches my attention, I am an easy reader. It is certainly a struggle to get me to read sometimes, unless I like the book that I am reading.

The current book that I am reading is The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. Sparks does a great job of grabbing the readers attention with his use of description and the way he is able to connect with the reader in various ways. I am looking forward to see how the story unfolds as it does in the movie and people able to put connections between the two and watching it "play out in my mind". It is a heart warming story at times, but it is also very sad and put a lot into perspective, even if it is fictional. At times I feel myself relating to the book or putting pieces together. The best part about reading this book is that I can relate to it and find it interesting and enjoyable to read. I also like the fact that I watched the movie so I can play the movie out in my head. The Last Song reminds me somewhat of Dear John, also written by Nicholas Sparks due to the relationships and family connections that relate.
